Argosy III - James M. Surprenant

Stop No.  47
Location:  Lexington, Massachusetts
Photographer:  James. M. Surprenant
Date:  November 2010

Argosy Journal:

I was really excited to receive the Argus Argosy camera box in the mail sent my way from my good friend and Massachusetts neighbor, Richard Chiriboga.  I had nearly forgotten about this project as my life has been so many changes since I first signed up for a turn.  Who would have know then that by the time the camera made its way to me I would be living in a new state, married to a new wife and now have a son-in-law and two amazing granddaughters?  Funny how life changes while you're waiting for an Argus in the mail!

I loaded this gorgeous C4 camera up with some Kodak Elite Chrome 100 ISO slide film and took to the streets.  My destination?  Central Square in nearby Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Photographs:

Central is my favorite square in Cambridge - it's the home of my favorite vinyl record store (Cheap-O Records), my barbershop (John's), and a whole lotta cool street art.  So I spent a recent Saturday morning snapping away at some of the grafitti murals found there.  Located in the heart of Central Square at 567 Mass Ave, is the 81 foot long "Wall" where you can find some great art by internationally known street artist from around the country.  (If you wish to see more photos of The Wall - check out the Flickr Group here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/wallatcentralsquare/pool/)
