Argosy Journal:

Both photos were taken in Hennepin, Illinois, the county seat of Putnam County.  It is, at 166 square miles, the smallest of Illinois' 102 counties.


The Photographs:



#1 is Pulsifer House, built in 1844.  It now houses the Putnam County Historical Society.




#2 is the Putnam County courthouse.  Built in 1839, it is still in use as a courthouse.  I stood on a stepladder to take this photo.
